Jaws had October. Now it's November, and the free rotating spot goes to a very different movie: Dog Gone. All month long, you can watch it free with BarkSkip.
What Dog Gone Is About
Dog Gone is a 2023 Netflix movie based on a true story. Stephen Herek directs it, and Johnny Berchtold, Rob Lowe, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley star. Berchtold plays Fielding Marshall, a college senior who adopts a yellow Lab named Gonker. The two go everywhere together... and that's all I'll say. No spoilers here.
Why Dog Gone for November
Heading into Thanksgiving, I wanted a family movie. Dog Gone is all about love, gratitude, and trust, which is what the holiday is about too. It felt like the right way to kick off the season.
Dog Movies Are the Hardest to Map
Dog movies are the toughest titles in the catalog. When the dog is the story, you can't skip every frame it's in, or there'd be no movie left.
Arthur the King has 148 mapped triggers. Okja has 140. Dog Gone has 132.
