Agreement to our legal terms
We are BarkSkip LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”), a limited liability company registered in California, United States, with a registered business address at 455 Market St, Ste 1940, PMB #105096, San Francisco, CA 94105.
We operate the website https://www.barkskip.com (the “Site”), the BarkSkip Chrome browser extension (the “Extension”), and related products and services that refer or link to these Terms & Conditions (these “Legal Terms”) (collectively, the “Services”).

These Legal Terms are a binding agreement between you (“you”) and BarkSkip LLC concerning your access to and use of the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Legal Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
We may update these Legal Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes become effective when posted on the Site or when we notify you by email, as applicable. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old. If you are under 18, you may not use the Services.

1. Our Services
What BarkSkip does. BarkSkip helps dog owners get warnings or skip certain animal and noise triggers during Netflix playback on supported titles, through the Extension on desktop Chrome. The Site provides information, support, optional forms (such as trigger reports and beta applications), and links to purchase BarkSkip Pro.
What BarkSkip is not. BarkSkip is a convenience tool for TV watching with reactive dogs. It is not veterinary, medical, behavioral, or training advice. We do not guarantee that every trigger will be detected or that every Netflix title is supported.
No affiliation. BarkSkip is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix, Google, Stripe, or any streaming platform.
Availability. Information on the Services is not intended for use where it would violate local law. You are responsible for compliance with laws that apply to you. The Services are not designed to comply with industry-specific regimes such as HIPAA or FISMA.
Requirements. Using the Extension requires a compatible Chrome browser on a computer, a Netflix account, and titles in our supported catalog. Netflix availability and playback are controlled by Netflix, not BarkSkip.
2. Intellectual property
Our property. We own or license the intellectual property in the Services, including the Extension, Site, software, designs, text, graphics, catalog data, trademarks, and logos (collectively, “Content” and “Marks”). Content and Marks are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Your license. Subject to these Legal Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only.
Restrictions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, license, reverse engineer, or exploit the Services, Content, or Marks except as expressly allowed by these Legal Terms or with our prior written permission.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Services, you grant us the right to use them without compensation or attribution.
Breach. Unauthorized use of our intellectual property may terminate your license and may violate applicable law.
3. User representations
By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:
You have legal capacity to agree to these Legal Terms and are at least 18 years old;
You will use the Services only for lawful purposes;
You will not use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Services except as allowed by standard browser or search-engine use; and
Information you provide to us is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
We may suspend or restrict access if we believe you have violated these Legal Terms or applicable law.
4. Purchases and payment
BarkSkip Pro. Paid access to the full Extension catalog is sold as BarkSkip Pro. Pro purchases, license keys, refunds, and related terms are governed by our separate Terms of Sale & Refund Policy, which is incorporated by reference. In the event of a conflict between this section and the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy regarding a Pro purchase, the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy controls.
How you pay. Pro is sold through Stripe Checkout (Payment Link) on the Site or via links in the Extension. We accept payment methods made available by Stripe at checkout (such as major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link, where supported).
Currency and tax. Prices are shown in USD unless otherwise stated. Applicable sales tax may be calculated and collected at checkout where we are registered to collect it.
No shipping. BarkSkip Pro is digital goods delivered electronically (license key by email). There are no physical goods or shipping charges.
Pricing errors. We may correct pricing or description errors at any time and may refuse or cancel orders placed at an incorrect price, including after payment has been requested or received (with a refund if payment was captured in error).
Chargebacks. If you dispute a charge with your bank without contacting us first, we may suspend or revoke your Pro license while the dispute is investigated, as described in the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy.
5. Prohibited activities
You may not use the Services except as we make them available. You agree not to:
Scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically collect data from the Services or our APIs without written permission;
Circumvent security, license validation, activation limits, or access controls for the Extension or catalog;
Share, resell, or publicly redistribute Pro license keys or paid catalog access;
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension or Services except where applicable law expressly permits;
Use the Services to compete with BarkSkip or for unauthorized commercial purposes;
Use the Services to advertise or offer to sell goods or services;
Impersonate BarkSkip, our staff, or other users;
Upload malware, spam, or material that disrupts the Services;
Harass, abuse, or threaten our team or other users;
Use the Services in violation of Netflix’s terms, Chrome Web Store policies, or any applicable law;
Misuse support channels or submit false abuse reports; or
Encourage or enable others to do any of the above.
We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.
6. Submissions and user content
Optional submissions. The Services may allow you to submit information to us, such as trigger reports, beta applications, support messages, or feedback (collectively, “Submissions”). Submissions are voluntary.
Your responsibility. You represent that your Submissions are accurate to the best of your knowledge, do not violate third-party rights, and comply with these Legal Terms. Do not include passwords, payment card numbers, or sensitive personal data we did not ask for.
How we use Submissions. We may use Submissions to improve the catalog, product, and support. Handling of personal data in Submissions is described in our Privacy Policy.
No public posting. Unless we say otherwise, Submissions are sent to us directly and are not intended to be published as public user forums. We are not responsible for how you choose to describe Netflix content in a Submission.
License to us. By submitting content to us through the Services, you grant BarkSkip a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, and process that content for operating and improving the Services. You retain ownership of your Submissions.
7. Services management
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:
Monitor the Services for compliance with these Legal Terms;
Remove or disable access to content or features that violate these Legal Terms or law;
Limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Services; and
Manage the Services to protect our rights, users, and systems.
8. Privacy
We care about data privacy and security. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information from the Site, Extension, checkout, and license validation. By using the Services, you agree to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Legal Terms.
The Services are hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
9. Term and termination
These Legal Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may deny, suspend, or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Legal Terms.
Pro license termination and revocation are also governed by the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy.
10. Modifications and interruptions
We may change, update, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third-party outages (including Netflix or Google), or technical issues may cause delays or errors. We are not liable for downtime or discontinuation except where required by law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Legal Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer laws in your country of residence apply.
For any dispute that is not resolved informally with us, you and BarkSkip agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act (UCITA) do not apply.
Purchases: Disputes relating specifically to BarkSkip Pro purchases may also be subject to the dispute and refund provisions in the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ALL TRIGGERS ON NETFLIX WILL BE DETECTED OR SKIPPED.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BARKSKIP LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICES (OTHER THAN A BARKSKIP PRO PURCHASE, WHICH IS ADDRESSED IN THE TERMS OF SALE & REFUND POLICY) SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED BY LAW.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BarkSkip LLC and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Services, your Submissions, or your violation of these Legal Terms or applicable law.
15. User data
We maintain data necessary to operate the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for maintaining backups of information you care about. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or corruption of data transmitted through the Services.
16. Electronic communications
Visiting the Site, using the Extension, and emailing us constitute electronic communications. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. You agree that electronic agreements, notices, and records satisfy legal writing requirements where permitted by law.
17. California users and residents
If a complaint with us is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210 or (916) 445-1254.
18. Miscellaneous
These Legal Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and (for Pro purchases) the Terms of Sale & Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding the Services. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. We may assign our rights and obligations. You may not assign yours without our consent. These Legal Terms are not construed against us because we drafted them.
