What Happens When You Click "Report at Current Time?"
The BarkSkip pop-up menu has a button at the bottom called "Report at current time." It's easy to miss, and it's one of BarkSkip’s most useful features. Here's what it does, what happens on my end, and why your reports matter.
Why There's a Report Button at All
Every title in the BarkSkip catalog is mapped scene by scene, and I might miss a thing or two. Plus, your dog could react to something Gus wouldn't. That's where you come in.
The One-Tap Version: In the Extension
If you're watching a supported title on a Netflix watch page and BarkSkip misses something, open the BarkSkip extension pop-up and hit "Report at current time." That's it. One tap sends the movie and the timestamp to me for review. You don't have to pause, write down the time, or look up what you're watching. The button grabs that for you.
The Detailed Version: The Report Form
If you're not using the extension, or you want to give me more detail, there's a form at barkskip.com/report-trigger that has three report types:
Missed or Wrong Trigger (Single Time): One moment where BarkSkip missed something or got the timing wrong.
Propose A Scene (Start And End): You give me a start and end time for a scene you think should be skipped.
Title Not In Catalog Yet: A Netflix title you want mapped.
You add the movie or show title and the times. You can also pick a category, paste the Netflix watch ID or page URL, and add notes.
What Happens on My End
When someone taps "Report at current time" while a Netflix title is playing, BarkSkip sends the following, with no name, email, or other personal information:
Movie title
Playback time
Netflix watch link
Extension version
Once a fix passes QA, you don't have to do anything. BarkSkip automatically pulls the catalog from our server. No reinstall, no update, no re-entering your license key. The next time you open Netflix, the updated map is there.
You're Helping Build This
Every report makes a map a little better for the next person watching with their dog. So if your dog catches something Gus and I didn't, please hit the button.
BarkSkip is a movie-night management tool, not a replacement for professional training or veterinary advice.
